1 Replies and 3369 Views Microsoft - Bill has left the building - almost  3369  1 Started by  Knowledge Bird Article in today's SMH says Microsoft 'faces a future that could prove even more challenging - retaining dominance in the face of a seemingly insurmountable threat from Google.' Well Bill had to go some time, and I'm sure Windows will be around for many years to come. But as HelpMaster is an application that is enmeshed with Windows technologies do you think there'll be ripple effects, in some measure, at some stage down the line What about the Mac rising like a Phoenix from the dust My ho...

0 Replies and 3461 Views Firefox tabbed browsing VERY slow or hanging? The end of Browser Wars?  3461  0 Started by  Scott McRae Hi all, I hope this comes as good news to any of you who have been experiencing almost impossibly slow browsing through Mozilla Firefox. I was having so much trouble with this, I nearly went back to internet explorer! A wise sage once said 'The only thing IE is good for is to download Firefox'. Hopefully the following will help restore your faith in mankind... well... in Firefox anyway. The symptoms: Unable to open more than one tab. Very, very, very slow to load a page. So...

3 Replies and 3200 Views Re-introduction  3200  3 Started by  Knowledge Bird Hello all,   I have returned to work from 9months of mat. leave. I've come back wondering why I couldn't reply to one of my old posts on the old board. Followed my nose and here I am - a whole new version. We run v7.5.184 here. My beef is the knowledgebase codes which it seems you may have addressed in this new version. v8 has new 'category codes' in the KB. Can you tell me if you did what we talked about in this post   Anyway, I'll be camped out on here during my work days. &nb...

This does not mean the latest 'zillion Mhz' machine is required but that whatever the machine is, it should have current service packs installed and suitable hardware and software drivers. Software applications such as Visual Studio 8 and .NET Framework will not run correctly with some early Beta softwa...
